CRITICS' CHOICE AWARDS 2020 | CONFIRA OS VENCEDORES
Neste domingo, 12, aconteceu a premiação do Critics’ Choice Awards 2020. A 25ª edição foi apresentada pelo ator Tay Diggs e premiou as melhores estrelas do cinema e da tv de acordo com a associação de críticos americanos e canadenses.
As primeiras premiações do ano nos dão pequenos indícios do que esperar no Oscar e pode-se dizer que o Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 surpreendeu ao anunciar os seus vencedores. O filme Era Uma Vez em… Hollywood saiu como o grande vencedor da noite, surpreendendo muitos que não acreditavam que o nono filme de Tarantino tivesse tanta potencialidade para desbancar alguns dos favoritos. O Irlandês apesar de liderar com 14 indicações, acabou levando apenas uma, por Melhor Elenco. Joaquin Phoenix garantiu mais um prêmio por Melhor Ator em Coringa, o que nos leva a acreditar na real possibilidade de que o ator receba uma estatueta no Oscar.
A atriz Kristen Bell foi homenageada com a 4ª edição do prêmio anual #SEEHER, que reconhece uma mulher que incorpora os valores estabelecidos pelo movimento SeeHer e que luta para mudar estereótipos e reconhece a importância de retratos autênticos de mulheres em todo o cenário do entretenimento. O SeeHer é um movimento global para mostrar mulheres e meninas como elas realmente são nos anúncios e na mídia, assim como no esporte e na música. As mulheres premiadas anteriormente foram: Viola Davis, Gal Gadot e Claire Foy. O ator Eddie Murphy também recebeu uma honraria durante o Critics’ Choice Awards 2020, o prêmio Lifetime Achievement Honor, por uma vida dedicada à sua carreira artística.

Após ser esnobada no Globo de Ouro, a minissérie de Ava Duvernay, Olhos Que Condenam, foi reconhecida e premiada no Critics’ Choice Awards 2020 por Melhor Minissérie e Jharrel Jerome levou o prêmio de Melhor Ator em Minissérie ou Filme para TV. A diretora fez um discurso emocionante ao subir no palco para receber o prêmio e fazer os agradecimentos devidos. “Obrigada aos críticos por finalmente nos deixarem subir ao palco”, ela iniciou. Ava agradeceu a todos da sua equipe e enfatizou a importância que a Netflix teve no projeto, permitindo que ela, enquanto mulher negra assumisse a liderança do projeto e tivesse a autonomia de produzir, diferente da realidade da indústria.

Ava chegou a contar que a série só existiu graças a um tweet publicado por Raymond Santana, um dos homens que foi injustamente preso em 1989. “Esta série começou com um tweet de Raymond Santana e agora ele, Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam e o poderoso Korey Wise, representam algo maior do que eles jamais imaginaram. Eles defendem a justiça, eles brilham como as pedras preciosas que eles sempre foram, mas que nós nunca havíamos visto. Se você assistir a história deles e sentir algo, eu convido você a considerar fazer alguma coisa”, ela continuou. “Não existe a coisa certa a fazer. Faça o que sentir necessário onde você estiver, mas não deixe sua raiva ser tudo. Casos como esse estão acontecendo ao redor do mundo, neste país, mais especificamente sob a nossa vigilância. Pessoas que são pobres e inocentes estão atrás das grades, enquanto os ricos e culpados andam livremente e ganham poder”.
